After a short break, polocrosse action set to return

Horse Power column with Gerard Walsh

POLOCROSSE action is almost ready to return to the Southern Downs.

After three carnivals early in the year, including the Adina Polocrosse World Cup, it has been quiet on the local polocrosse scene.

The first Southern Downs carnival next month will be Cunningham on August 10-11, followed by the Gold Coast carnival at Killarney on August 17-18, then the Warwick Rosebowl Carnival on August 24-25.

It is interesting to read the Warwick club notes each Thursday in the Daily News.

The club has been to many Queensland carnivals and interstate to Narrabri and Inverell this month and many of the same clubs will be in Warwick for the Rosebowl.

Clubs are welcome to submit notes to community@warwickdailynews.com.au.

Karts racing

AFTER the excitement of the Queensland Junior Top Guns meeting which had $33,000 in prizes, the Warwick Karting Club is organising round 4 of the club championships on Sunday.

A fortnight later, on August 9-11, the club will host round 5 of the pro tour which will be the biggest event this year at Sandy Creek Raceway.

As with all meetings at Sandy Creek, spectator entry is free.
