All Redbacks Aussie rules awards presented for season

KAREN Clarke has been awarded life membership of the Warwick Redbacks Aussie rules club.

She was presented with the award at Saturday night's presentation night at the Redbacks clubhouse.

After being awarded life membership, Karen said she joined in 2004 after not seeing her husband Keith on weekends during the 2003 Aussie rules season.

"Keith was at AFL on Saturday and then golf on Sunday morning so I didn't see him to Sunday afternoons,” she said.

"I joined the Redbacks so I could see him at the footy.”

She has been club president, secretary, committee member, goal umpire, canteen worker and ground marshall.

"I love everything to do with the club,” she said.

The whole Clarke family is involved in the club.

Keith and Karen's daughters Jennifer and Taylah shared the club person of the year award.

"We have a nice lot of players in the Redbacks and they look after our girls,” Karen said.

The Stephen Gray Medal for best and fairest was won by Tyhe Clarkson with 43 points.

He took the lead in the second half of the season and finished strongly in voting ahead of joint runners up Josh Read and Shane Iles on 24.

Jack Fletcher won most improved and Matt Watson won the coaches' award
