Blooming guru's impressive show stopping win
A WOMAN with an eye for creative flower designs said the timing of the Killarney Show couldn't be better to lift the community's spirits.
Margaret Armstrong said the showground's event was vital for those doing it tough during the drought.
"I think it's more important than ever,” Ms Armstrong said.
"It brings people out and keeps people happy, despite the adversity.”
The gardening expert, who took out eight awards in the horticulture section, owed it all to her crafty knowledge.
"I used to love painting, embroidering, and worked for photographers,” she said.
"Pretty much anything to do with crafts.”
After retiring, she started doing floral art, a passion that has grown over the years.
"I love making ordinary things beautiful,” Ms Armstrong said.
