Broncos Cup netball going for two decades and more to come

NETBALL: The Broncos Cup netball is in its 22nd year as the premier year 7-10 school competition in the Southern Downs and Border area.

Nerelle Goodwin and Amelia Sutton were two long-serving co-ordinators of the netball but the competition is now being run by Emily Spink from Goondiwindi State High School.

For almost two decades, the competition was run for six weeks on Wednesday's after school but is now two full days of netball.

The first half of the competition was played on Wednesday at two netball complexes at Scots PGC College and the final day of the competition will be on June 12 at Goondiwindi.

Netball and rugby league have always been part of the Broncos Cup. Travelling expenses for teams are covered by the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League Football Club.
