Campbell racing in three continents on successive weekends

MOTORSPORT: Warwick driver Matt Campbell will compete in three continents on successive weekends as he competes with Porsche in America, Europe and Japan.

Campbell hasn't been home to Australia since the 12 Hour at Bathurst early this year.

At the weekend, he competed for a new team at Hockenheim, the closest raceway to his Stuttgart, Germany, base.

This weekend, he will race in SRO America and then an endurance race at Barcelona in Spain the following weekend and on the third weekend, he will race at Fiji, Japan.

His mother Angie Campbell said her son was happy with his progress this year.

"He is always keen to come home for the Bathurst 12 Hour but it will depend on his commitments with Porsche early next year,” he said.

This year, Campbell was in the winning team at the 12 hour race but due to commitments with Porsche overseas, he won't be in any of the Supercars Enduro races in Australia this year.

The Barcelona round is round 10 in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe Series.
