Coles opens in Warwick tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day the long-anticipated Coles Supermarket opens its doors to the Warwick community.

A day of celebration is planned in-store, as the supermarket giant brings its brand to Warwick for the first time.

The huge new store, which covers over 3500sqm, includes a massive cheese wall, a bakery where everything is baked fresh daily, a butchery and a fresh fruit and vegetable section, featuring potatoes from Wickham's Farms in Killarney and fruit from the Granite Belt.

Store manager Michael Vipiana said it was going to be a huge day for Coles and for Warwick.

"It's been a busy four weeks since the builders left the site and we started getting ready for our grand opening, but we're really looking forward to it,” he said.

"This is the newest of the new Coles stores and it will be great to showcase the shop to the local community.”

Starting from 10am the Coles Fresh Food Festival will kick off and shoppers will have the opportunity to try old family recipes from some of Coles' local suppliers, including Rugby Farms and Wickham Farms.

Wickham's Farms owner/manager Kerri Lamb said it was exciting to have such a lovely new store so close.

"And we're also thrilled to continue our long-standing business relationships with Coles,” she said.

"We'll be in-store making a potato bake that people can sample using our Wickham's Farms potatoes.”

Coles Warwick will officially open to shoppers at 8am today and free goodie bags will be available to the first 100 customers through the doors.

Mr Vipiana said shoppers should be prepared to be blown away.

"It's a huge space and looks fantastic, from the polished concrete floors to the feature walls, it's all a fresh new look for Warwick,” he said.
