CQ accommodation among Australia's top 10 luxury hotels
A CENTRAL Queensland resort has been named in the top 10 list of Australia's best hotels, and it comes in at a fraction of the price of the other names on the list.
Ovolo Woolloomooloo was crowned the best hotel in Australia by customer experience, followed by its sister hotel Ovolo 1888 at Darling Harbour in third, but while Queensland hotels didn't make the top three, they dominated the list, with five entries.
Making up the top three in the annual TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award, which collates the year of reviews and turns them into a Top 10, was Pinetrees Lodge on Lord Howe Island.
It was the second most expensive destination behind Queensland's Qualia Resort, which charges an average of $1508 a night.
In stark contrast to that, Queensland's surprising second-highest entry, and Central Queensland destination, came in at a budget-friendly $157 a night.
