Customers flock to ‘lucky’ newsagency for lotto tickets
CUSTOMERS are flocking to an Allora newsagency in the hope the store’s streak of good luck will come in threes.
David Dwan from Allora Newsagency has sold two big winning Lotto tickets in just one month.
After selling the first division prize of $692,782,72 on February 1 and now the second division prize of $7576.10 on Wednesday night, Mr Dwan said business had picked up.
“We don’t know who it is, as they haven’t claimed here but the word’s getting around and there’s certainly a buzz about it,” he said.
“We’ve certainly had more foot traffic since the first win and people who wouldn’t usually buy Lotto tickets are now doing so,” Mr Dwan said.
“People like to think things come in threes, so they’re trying their luck and hoping it’s their turn.”
The first division prize went to a Warwick man who requested to remain anonymous but said he would be spending his winnings on a new ute.
Mr Dwan said it was not known if Wednesday’s winning punter realised their luck.
“We were notified by Golden Casket, so let’s hope they know they’ve won or have collected it elsewhere,” he said.
