GALLERY: Socks pulled up for St Mary's Races

SOME eye-catching outfits showed up to the track on Saturday for the the St Mary's School Races, none more so than the forty middle-aged men who turned up to the track with their socks pulled up to the knees.

A group of friends from all around the country converged on Warwick for the weekend, and the races were at the top of their to-do list.

But while their fashion may have been the most memorable, they weren't necessarily the most stylish.

Plenty of locals scrubbed up in their best frocks and facinators for a day of light-hearted fun.

Warwick Turf Club secretary Kristen Doyle said the event increased in popularity from last year, with somewhere between 400 and 600 people through the gates.

"It was a lovely day, the St Mary's crew always have a lovely day up in that area because they always have all their kids there having fun on the rides while the parents can sit back and enjoy the races,” she said.
