Great interest in Warwick Touch Association fixtures
TOUCH: The Warwick Touch Association is playing games on six ovals it its third biggest season to date.
Each year, two seasons are played in the association
Two years ago, the association started the season with 48 teams and this season has 43.
Association president Justin Nolan said it would have been nice to have an even number of teams to get rid of the bye.
"At present, we are playing games in three pools,” said
Pool A includes players who regularly play A and B grade, pool B is for C and D-grade players and pool C for E and F grade players.
"We will split the teams into A to F grades for the finals in late November and early December,” he said.
"State team trials are played in February and I hope we can field more teams next year and secure more spots in Queensland teams to play New South Wales each year at Coffs Harbour.”
While no additional teams will be added at this stage, there are teams which could handle more players, particularly women over 18, to add experience to some of the younger teams.
Anyone keen to join touch welcome to ring 0401323076 or come to the touch grounds (behind Collegians) on a Wednesday from 6.15pm.
Games this season are being played on the touch fields, Eastern Suburbs, Warwick Redbacks, Warwick Water Rats, Warwick Cowboys and the football/cricket oval at Queens Park.
