iPad is all Felicity needs to capture a great pic

AS SOON as Felicity Hughes learnt how to hold things, she started picking up cameras.

Little Felicity would bemuse her parents by taking pictures of whatever she could find, a passion she has recently rediscovered.

The 13-year-old took an incredible picture to be crowned the winner of The Daily News Facebook cover photo competition last week.

Felicity said she liked highlighting the beauty in things people may not otherwise believe were pretty and she does it all with her mother's iPad.

"With dandelions, when you take a photo with the sun around it, it has this very pretty rainbow to it," she said.

Felicity said she enjoyed capturing the environment around her.

"I can make the smallest plants look big somehow," she said.

Photography may yet become her career, but for now she's just focused on improving her shots.

Her mother Laurel Hughes said she couldn't wait to see the photos Felicity came up with as she is encouraged to keep learning.

"It's always a surprise what she captures, it blows us away," she said.
