LATEST NEWS: What's going on at Rose City?
ANTICIPATION for the opening of Rose City Shoppingworld's brand new Coles store is reaching feverpitch as the $40million development shows definite signs of nearing completion.
The word around town was that the supermarket giant had moved its opening date forward, but Rose City Shoppingworld marketing manager Louise de Lissa said the store was still on track to open prior to Easter.
"There's talk that it could be around the end of March, but it's not long now,” she said.
"I took a walk through the new Coles area, which is being fitted out and it's going to be amazing.
"Warwick will be blown away by the very latest in Coles stores.”
Mrs de Lissa said workers were also hard at work on the Fitzroy streetscape.
"They're extending that whole area, which will allow for a unique outdoor area,” she said.
"It's going to be a highly visible part of the development and there were will be a dining option out that way.
"Shoppers are going to be able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy a coffee.
"We're also getting closer to finishing the underground carpark and travelators and lifts to the point where they can open as well.”
Mrs de Lissa said several other areas were nearing completion.
"TSG Newsxpress is back on track for an opening within the next month and Strandbags is expected to open around the end of February.”
"The Bread Factory are currently fitting out the shop, getting that finalised and will hopefully open in the next few weeks.
"As well as that another exciting fresh food shop has been confirmed and we're looking towards announcing a finalised opening date sometime this week.”
