Limitless teenage fun heading straight for Southern Downs

ARCHERY, ropes courses, geocaching, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding are all part of an action-packed Youth Week that is set to deliver fun for high school students across the Southern Downs.

Teenagers throughout the region have seized control of the annual program by designing the entire event from start to finish.

'Unlimited' was the theme chosen by representatives from the Southern Downs Youth Council, who want high school students to be challenged with activities across the week.

"The Youth Council members from 2018 and 2019 have come up with a great event for young people in our region and have put a lot of hard work into making Unlimited! a reality," Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie said.

"Unlimted! is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get out of their comfort zones and meet other young people from across the region, so the more people that take part the better."

The event will run from April 13-15 at YMCA's Camp Leslie Dam and is geared towards young people in Years 7-12.

Queensland Youth Week is an annual event that celebrates people aged 12 to 25 and how they positively contribute to communities.

This year's theme, 'unlimited', praises the boundless energy young people bring to their communities and encourages them to look at the future.
