Lock returns on huge day for the Cowboys
RUGBY LEAGUE: Injured lock Sam Broomhall will return from injury for the clash with ladder leaders Valleys at Fr Ranger Oval on Saturday.
The first of four games will start at 2.10pm Saturday, with A grade being played for the Jim Stevens Memorial Shield from 6.30pm.
"Sam has a lot of experience and is one of our top tacklers week in, week out,” coach Matt Grew said. "We found out this week that half Paul Cantwell is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
"Matt Marshall will play halfback, he is a quality footballer and has been at half before.”
With Marshall moving to halfback, back rower Cody Byrne will partner Joe Fuimaono in the centres.
Mitch McMahon returns from an ankle injury, after missing one game, and will be the utility player at No.14.
"His defence, talk on the field and work rate are first class,” Grew said.
Valleys forwards could punch hard up the middle and they had a lot of speed out wide, he said.
"We will have to be switched on for the 80 minutes.”
If Warwick wins, they will make the June 23 final of the Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy.
Also on Saturday: Ladies' day and reunions of 1989, 1999 and 2009 teams.
