Man, 51, charged after 'firing rifle' at two men

A MAN who allegedly fired a rifle at two men after they threw a rock at his front window at Millmerran Woods has been charged with multiple offences.

Police say the two men tossed the rock at the Ironbark Dve property about 9pm last night and a man inside the house then shot the weapon at the men as they ran away.

The rifle did not cause serious injury, but one of the men suffered a graze to his right hip from a bullet.

A 51-year-old Millmerran Woods man has been charged with one count each of dangerous conduct with a weapon, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, acts intended to disable, possession of shortened firearm, unlawful possession of category B weapon, possession of explosives and possession of dangerous drug.

He is scheduled to appear at the Millmerran Magistrates Court on September 20.
