Man airlifted in serious condition after highway crash

UPDATE 3.45pm: Cunningham Highway has been reopened after an earlier single-vehicle rollover near the Eight Mile.

A man was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A spokesman from Queensland Ambulance Services said the man was suffering from neck and back injuries as well as lacerations.

He was the only patient assessed on the scene.

The Forensic Investigation Unit are conducting enquiries into the crash.

UPDATE 2.45pm: A man is set to be airlifted from the scene of a single-vehicle rollover near the Eight Mile intersection.

A spokesman from Queensland Ambulance Services said the man was suffering from neck and back injuries as well as lacerations.

Lanes on the Cunningham Highway are blocked in both directions.

The man is still being treated on the scene.

The spokesman said only one patient required assessment by paramedics.

INITIAL 1.15pm: A man is reportedly still in his vehicle after a single-vehicle rollover on the Cunningham Highway near the Eight Mile intersection.

An ambulance crew is en route to the scene at Glengallan.

A spokeswoman from Queensland Ambulance Services said it was not known at that stage whether the man was trapped.

An emergency call was made about 1.20pm this afternoon.
