Massive day for juniors in rugby league
TEN games will be played during the biggest day of the season in the Warwick and District Junior Rugby League on Saturday at Eastern Suburbs Oval.
Player numbers are up across the league.
League tag for girls has been played in U15 and U17 age groups and the clubs have attracted good numbers.
Warwick and District Junior Rugby League secretary Karen Lowe said there was excellent growth in the number of girls playing league tag.
"As well as league tag, we have U14 and U17 teams from the district in the Friday night Toowoomba girls' tackle competition,” she said.
"Our girls in the U14 grade are playing off in Toowoomba this Saturday for a spot in the grand final.”
Lowe said Warwick and District teams competed at Coolum and Pittsworth during the season and mixed it well with opposition teams.
"Our U15 boys team will play in a carnival in Bundaberg in the September school holidays,” she said.
Spectators are welcome to watch this Saturday's semi final at Eastern Suburbs, then the preliminary finals at Texas next Saturday and the grand finals at Stanthorpe on September 14.
