Mustering region’s musical talent

AS GYMPIE starts to really cool down to that winter feeling, things in the Muster office are definitely heating up.

It's about this time we start launching all the fantastic parts of our festival that we've been working on these past months.

The Gympie Music Muster team is very excited to re-launch the Muster Talent Search which will undergo some significant changes and a major facelift in 2013. The creative minds behind the scenes have been working on bringing the 2013 event to a professional standard on par with the best talent competitions in Australia.

Steeped in history, we wanted to make sure the essence of the competition continued. For us it's about finding and supporting emerging, stunning musical talent and creating a platform for the headliners of our future events to really make their mark.

We also are working to create premium entertainment for our Muster audience to experience.

We want to reach more aspiring artists and open up the competition by connecting online, through social media and at live events in the lead-up to the Muster in August.

The 2013 Talent Search highlights include:

  • Free entry (apply at;
  • Live Wildcard Heat Events in Gympie;
  • Semi-final at the Gympie Music Muster on Saturday, August 24;
  • Main Stage grand final on Sunday, August 25;
  • Amazing prizes including expert industry mentoring, recording and music products.

Aspiring artists can apply to four categories including Junior Talent (12-15 years), Overall Performer, Balladeers and Best Original Song.

Applications will open online on Monday, May 27 and entrants can find all the competition terms and conditions on our website

We've always seen an amazing array of local talent participate in the Muster Talent Search and the Gympie Muster Team is confident the Gympie region will continue to deliver a strong field of entries.

Good luck!
