NEW STORE: Newsagency finally set to open at Rose City

THE latest addition to Rose City Shoppingworld after its $40million re-development has finally opened its doors after a long wait.

TSG and Newsagency opens tomorrow, filling a void that has been left in the centre for years.

Store manager Prakash Balia said the store opening was a decision spurred by a centre demand for a Gold Lotto Casket provider.

"The centre contacted us because we had a few around Brisbane and they wanted the best,” Mr Balia said.

"Apparently that's us.”

The store has been in the works for 18 months, and despite growing drought concerns, Mr Bahlia said he wasn't worried about how the dry could affect business.

"Droughts can't last forever,” Mr Balia said.

"I'm hoping we bring some good luck and sell a big Lotto win and put Warwick back on the map.”

While Mr Balia owns the store, Vince and Jai Khatri will run the Warwick branch.

The husband and wife team were living in the US before settling in Warwick to be closer to family, and hoped the store would offer a chance to be independent from family.

"We are trying to do something different,” Mrs Khatri said.

"We wanted to do it on our own.”

Mr Khatri said excitement for the store had been amping up over the past couple of days as the final touches were made.

"When you go outside, everyone's asking 'when are you open, when are you open?'” he said. "They are all looking forward to it.”
