QUIRKIEST OUTFITS: Students dress in crazy best for carnival

ATHLETICS: Spending $16 at a Warwick store enabled Bonnie Donaldson to dress up for the Assumption College sports at Hamilton Oval.

The two-day carnival started on Thursday and will end Friday afternoon with the presentation of age championships.

While some of the runners were keen to set personal bests and make it to the regional championships, others just had a bit of fun and endeavoured to gain points for their houses.

Donaldson was confident Rice House would do well in the carnival.

"We have the fastest runners,” she said.

"It cost me $16 to dress up in blue for Rice, the tie was $3, the braces $4 and the skirt $9.”

Amy Harrison dressed up in green for McAuley and said it was fun to get in the spirit of the carnival.

"I found some long socks in my house colours at home,” she said.

When looking for some red to barrack for Romero, Jack Duggan found a Romero shirt, which had been worn by his brother Tom.
