Redbacks set to host day of AFLDD semi finals
AUSSIE RULES: Tyhe Clarkson was the best for Warwick in a 10.17. (77) to 9.2. (56) loss to Coolaroo in the major qualifying final in AFL Darling Downs.
Coolaroo led all the way in the game at Rockville.
Coach Ben Heppell led the scoring with four goals for Warwick in the Saturday afternoon games.
Clarkson played in the midfield in a game where he and fellow midfielder Kurt Millard shared the most possessions for the Warwick team.
Heppell said the Warwick skill level was down on the day.
"We are good enough to beat teams like Coolaroo but we just need to bring our A-game to the ground,” he said.
"There will be solid competitive footy at training on Tuesday night and we will work on our skills on Thursday night.”
USQ defeated Highfields by one goal in the elimination final so USQ will play Warwick Redbacks at the Warwick Credit Union Oval at 2.30pm in the minor semi final on Saturday.
Junior and senior women's finals will also be at Warwick Credit Union Oval making a full day of footy on Saturday. Admission will be free.
The major semi final will be at Goondiwindi between Goondiwindi and Coolaroo.
