Retired NRL player top scores at the cricket
CRICKET: Wheatvale has moved back into second position on the Warwick Cricket Association Condamine Cup points table after a win against Victoria Hill at Slade Park on Sunday.
Retired NRL player Travis Burns is playing for the Victoria Hill side and top scored with 41 in a total of 138.
Carter Bilbrough was the star for Wheatvale with a top scoring 43 and 4-28 with the ball.
Burns said his side simply didn't bat well enough.
"We will be a team to be reckoned with,” he said.
"Every team has a bad day.
"Wheatvale played some great cricket and are strong in all departments.”
The target was reached with a Wheatvale partnership between Jonno Colfs, 19, and Hayden Doherty, 15 runs.
Redbacks and Maryvale Condamine won the two Saturday games.
