Star striker set to return from an ankle injury

FOOTBALL: Nick Spence has made a miraculous recovery from an ankle injury and will take his place in the Warwick Wolves team to play Rockville at Queens Park, Warwick, at 5pm Saturday.

The Warwick team beat third-placed St Albans 3-1 last Saturday at Queens Park.

With three rounds to go, leaders Willowburn and second-placed Warwick are certain to play in the major semi-final.

St Albans are third and Rockville fourth and both teams are expected to play in the minor semi-final in the conference grade.

Warwick striker Nick Spence had a ankle injury from the win against St Albans, but teammate Rob Davey said Spence was expected to play against Rockville.

Spence and Matt Carey are the leading scorers in the Warwick team.

Junior fixtures will be played at Queens Park on Saturday and will continue every week until grand final day on September 14. The next junior carnival for Wolves players will be a carnival at Tenterfield on Sunday week which will cater for age groups up to under 12.
