Two clubs qualify three teams for the WDJRL grand finals

RUGBY LEAGUE: All Warwick and District Junior Rugby League finals will be played on Saturday at Sullivan Oval.

The Stanthorpe club has confirmed the grand finals are going ahead in the aftermath of a disastrous six days of fires on the Granite Belt.

Last weekend, the Texas club hosted all preliminary finals.

In the first weekend of the finals series in the under-14 grade, Collegians White narrowly beat Collegians Blue in the major semi.

Last weekend, Wattles came from behind to beat Collegians Blue in the preliminary final.

Collegians and Goondiwindi clubs each have three teams in the grand finals, Stanthorpe is in both league tag grand finals and Tenterfield and Wattles are each in one.

The Warwick and District under-14 girls rugby league team will play in the Toowoomba junior grand final at 8.30am on Saturday at Clive Berghofer Stadium in Toowoomba.

9.30am under-12 Collegians v Goondiwindi, 20 minutes a half

10.30am under-17 league tag, Stanthorpe v Goondwindi, 25 minutes a half

11.40am under-14 Collegians White v Wattles, 25 minutes a half

12.50pm Games and sprints for children from earlier games or children not involved in finals

1.10pm under-15 league tag Tenterfield v Stanthorpe, 25 minutes a half

2.30pm: under-16 Collegians v Goondiwindi, 30 minutes a half

Admission: $5, 16 years and under free.
