UPDATE: Driver charged after New England head-on crash
UPDATE 8.28am A head-on collision near the Eight Mile intersection yesterday has left one woman injured and another facing court.
Acting Warwick Police officer-in-charge Shane Reid said it appears the driver of one vehicle has become distracted and drifted into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
"Police has issued an 18-year-old Allora woman with a notice to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention," he said.
Queensland Ambulance Service transported one patient to Warwick Hospital with chest pain, possibly caused by a seatbelt injury and airbag deployment.
The scene was cleared by 5pm.
UPDATE 4.20PM: A woman has been injured in a serious two-vehicle head-on collision on the New England Highway.
Paramedics are treating the woman at the scene for injuries.
She is expected to be taken to hospital.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are at the scene and have secured the area.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.
The extent of the woman's injuries are unknown at this stage.
Initial reports suggest no-one had been trapped in the crash wreckage.
4.05PM: Emergency services are responding to a two-vehicle head-on crash on the New England Hwy.
The crash occurred about 3km north of the Eight Mile intersection near Warwick about 4.05pm.
Emergency services are arriving on scene.
