FOR Elle Rudd, this weekend's performance is more than a gig, it's a homecoming.

Elle, one half of acoustic duo, Smooth Talk, will be performing in Stanthorpe for the first time in over five years.

"I'm beyond excited for this performance," Elle said.

"Not only is it my first performance as a duo act with Ash Moore, but it will also be the first time I'll perform live music in my hometown in six years.

"To be a part of such a fantastic local event is a real honour."

While Elle and Ash are better known for their talents in SideTracked, a Warwick-based rock band that has performed at numerous events including the New Year's Eve Rodeo in Warwick and 2018 Boxing Day Races, they are eager to have the chance to play with a different sound.

"It's easier to connect with people when it's just a singer and a guitar," Elle said.

"I can hear myself and I'm able to sing with more emotion and passion and Ash is able to shine more with his insanely good guitar playing."

Elle said she was thrilled by the response to Smooth Talk's formation.

"Once word got around that I was performing in a duo, it slowly expanded from there to a gig on Friday night at the Top Pub and a gig on Saturday night at the Country Club," she said.

But their rockstar days aren't too far behind them.

"We will definitely continue down the duo road in the future, as long as there's a market for it," Elle said.

"But nothing is quite like the feeling of performing with a five-piece band, so we are very much still involved in that as well."

As for what audiences can expect to enjoy at their upcoming performances, Elle says there is something for everyone, with both acoustic and electric sets and a wide range of hits and personal favourites.

As for Elle's favourite hit they'll perform?

"We will definitely perform 'Rhiannon' by Fleetwood Mac," she said.

Smooth Talk will be performing at the Top Pub, 140 High St, on July 5 from 7.30pm.

They'll be at Country Club Hotel, 26 Maryland St, on July 6 and will perform from 7.30pm until late.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe will be running from 5-7 of July.
