Warwick CBD hit with a string of rubbish bin fires
TWO SUSPECTS targeted wheelie bins in a string of fires in Warwick early this morning.
Warwick Police and Fire services were called to two rubbish bin fires, believed to be started by the same offenders.
The first incident came in at 12:45am, when several green wheelie bins where set on fire in the Town Hall car park.
"Three wheelie bins at the back of the Warwick TAB were caught alight," Sergeant Ryan Harmer said
Again at 1:30am two more bins were engulfed in flames at the Rugby Union Club on Alice St.
After viewing CCTV footage, police believe the same offenders were responsible for the fires, as well as graffiti.
"It is believed the same two suspects had sprayed painted graffiti on the external wall on the Suncorp Bank, in the alley way off Palmerin St," Sgt Harmer said.
The suspects were caught on numerous cameras in the CBD and police are conducting inquiries to locate these persons.
"The CBD is covered by numerous Southern Downs Region Council CCTV cameras, as part of the keeping the city safe program, covering all locations from last night's actions, so we were able to get footage from all events, which will assist in identifying the suspects," Sgt Harmer said.
