Wattles in good form in reserve-grade finals game

RUGBY LEAGUE: Wattles have been the major winners from the Southern Downs and Border areas so far in Toowoomba Rugby League finals this weekend.

In reserve grade on Saturday, Wattles beat Highfields 14-0 to stay in the finals series. Gatton defeated Goondiwindi 18-12 on Sunday

Brenden Wilson is captain coach of the Wattles team in reserve grade.

The A-grade game between Wattles and Warwick has started and Wattles lead Warwick 6-4.

In second division, Goondiwindi defeated Texas 52-22 and Gatton beat Stanthorpe 16-14. Both Texas and Stanthorpe are teams from the former Border Rugby League competition.

In the first A-grade game of the weekend, Dalby beat Goondiwindi 26-6 and will now meet the loser of the Wattles and Warwick game in the minor semi final next weekend.

In next weekend's major semi final, Valleys will play the winner of Sunday afternoon's A-grade game between Wattles and Warwick.
