Wattles Warriors on Rasmussen Trophy warpath
THE Wattles Warriors are almost certain to play in next Sunday's Madsen Rasmussen Trophy final after scoring a 58-12 victory against Pittsworth in last night's game at Pittsworth.
Wattles needed to win the secure the second finals spot against Gatton.
While the finalists won't be confirmed until after today's game, the reality is Highfields is looking down the barrel of raking up a massive score in a win against Warwick Cowboys if they want to stay in the running for the second finals place.
Warwick can't make the final as even with a win against Highfields today, they will be two points away from the top two.
The Cowboys are in the President's Cup final in reserve grade regardless of the result today.
The reserve-grade final will be the main curtain-raiser to the A-grade Madsen Rasmussen Trophy final in memory of two legends of the TRL, Elton Rasmussen and Mick Madsen.
Madsen is originally from Tannymorel east of Warwick and made the QRL Team of the Century in the front row.
