What's On in horsepower sports on a Southern Downs
THE Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland have been at Morgan Park Raceway late this week for rider training.
The first round of the club competition will be this Saturday and Sunday.
Speeds well over 200km/h will be reached over the weekend.
The Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland will be at Morgan Park on February 23-24 for a TTT meeting, Test, Tune and Trial.
THE Warwick Karting Club hosted the first round of its season last weekend with 88 karts at Sandy Creek Raceway.
The club's next race meeting will be on March 10 with practice the day before.
This will be a massive year for the club as it hosts a national karting round and the Junior Top Guns, the richest junior meeting in the state.
DEBBIE Harris will be the most experienced player at the Adina Polocrosse World Cup on April 22-28.
She played the first four World Cups for United Kingdom and this year will return with the Ireland team.
American player Rob Shuttles will be playing in his fourth cup.
ONE bonus of being on holidays is I can watch a bit of Sunday sport, no time when I am rostered on to work.
I was recently able to watch Matt Campbell win the Bathurst 12 Hour. Such is his reputation, there would never have been a question about which driver anchored the team. Great to be in a winning team at Bathurst but much better to be the driver to cross the line.
AS readers would be aware, the Daily News and Warwick Credit Union organise monthly sports star awards and this is the 25th year of the awards.
There are many monthly winners from horsepower sports and nominations always welcome to firstname.lastname@example.org
